Work out what is yours to arrange.
Read your lease or purchase information. List the services already included and those that need a new account. Check the full service address and unit number, your intended move date, and any building access requirements. Ask the outgoing resident or property manager about the existing setup without assuming their account can transfer to you.
Compare the details that affect your household.
Confirm providers and options at the address. Ask about eligibility, deposits, one-time charges, recurring prices, equipment, and contract terms. Separate an introductory offer from its later price. Read the cancellation conditions and keep a copy of every offer you accept.
Turn plans into confirmations.
Ask the provider to confirm activation and installation details. Arrange access for appointments, record reference numbers, and find out who to contact if a date changes. Schedule the end of your old service separately; do not assume a new account automatically closes the old one.
Check the handover and keep a record.
Confirm that the services you arranged are working. If the provider requests opening meter readings, follow its instructions and keep a dated record. Save equipment receipts, appointment details, and account confirmations. For any interruption or account issue, follow up through the provider’s verified support channel.
